INTRUDER IN THE DUST AND OTHER MATTERS

My mom was a big Faulkner fan... she could seamlessly discuss the inter-relations of all of his Yoknapatawpha County, Mississippi novels with the ease of a post grad lit professor. I've had most of her Faulkner collection since she passed in 1994, and have finally begun tackling them w Intruder in the Dust.

Faulkner's stream of consciousness style works like a mother for interior monologue, but as his sentences can run for a page or… Continue

Real Deal Comics

Lawrence Hubbard, aka Rawdog, is the artist behind the mysterious Real Deal Magazine, a six-issue masterpiece of comics that began in 1989. One of the rare, contemporary, Black created and published comics, Real Deal depicts L.A. underworld life with visceral, bone-dry humor and gross out violence rendered in Hubbard’s uniquely gnarly line.

The Museum Of UnCut Funk is pleased to announce the acquisition of issues 1,3,4,5 and 6. Issue… Continue

Thoughts On The Passing Of The Musical Genius Of My Generation...

I am a huge Jackson 5 and Michael Jackson Fan. I always have been and always will be. So right now, needless to say, I am stunned. I have been sitting on the couch fighting back the tears for hours, totally unable to process the fact that one of the few entertainers that I truly LOVE is gone. It is especially hard for me to accept this loss, today of all days, on my birthday...

I was a J5 fan from the very beginning. I… Continue

The Museum of UnCut Funk is officially the shiznit people!

The Museum of UnCut Funk is officially the shiznit people! they CONSISTANTLY educate me on the untold history of black comics. Their feature on Black Music and Comics not only covered books i knew about (KRS ONE's Break the Chain), but they dropped dime on books about Public Enemy, Ice-T and 2 Live Crew that i never even HEARD of... and that's just the hip hop stuff! but the Museum always goes deep to break you off the knowledge, and sports a… Continue
